Dr. Joseph Purcell established Redding Spine and Sports Medicine in November of 2009. After growing up on Long Island, NY, he completed his undergraduate education at Wake Forest University in Health and Exercise Science. He then received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He went on to complete his Internship at North Shore University Hospital at Plainview, NY, followed by his Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York University School of Medicine Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine. He also completed an additional year of fellowship training in the Central Coast of California, in Interventional Spine, Sports Medicine and Pain Management. In April, 2010, Dr. Purcell also received board certification in Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Under the direction and care of Dr. Joe Purcell Medical Director, Redding Spine and Sports Medicine has earned Electrodiagnostic (EDX) Laboratory Accredition with Exemplary Status from the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM).
